Description

Gimalxina® is the Mexican brand of amoxicillin 500 mg, a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin antibiotic. Each capsule contains amoxicillin 500 mg, and this presentation includes 60 capsules. It is indicated for infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, and gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible organisms, as well as for the prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis.

Amoxicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Treatment courses and dosing depend on the type and severity of infection; always complete the full course as prescribed even if symptoms improve. Patients with a history of penicillin allergy should not use this medication. Consult your healthcare provider for appropriate dosing and to confirm bacterial susceptibility.
